I won't be bidding. I asked if he wanted to swap for the Xsara which he said he would, but it'd be unfair to other bidders. Its a fair point, so I'm not too fussed. Didn't realise it was that far along actually.

At the end of the day, as David R said...it's a 16. If I want to go fast, I'll keep the valver. If I want to be smooth, I'd get a GT and if I want to save money I'd get a 19D.

The car's only special to me because its the first one I ever went in, and the one I grew up learning about....by that rule I should buy a Teal Blue Marina!

I also had a 16RS a while back and love it as I did, it was a bit of a let down in the driving department IMO. Also had a 16TRS, but it had a slushbox :(

So I've done a bit of realising. Plus I REALLY want a Saxo VTS

And I should buy a Grey Bedford HA van and fit windows in the rear panels.

I guess that would put me in a Bedford HA Van......in rusty Post Office Red! It actually WAS a GPO vehicle, in which I learned to drive on a 3 day "crash course". Monday morning first sat behind the wheel, 8 hrs Monday to Wednesday driving the thing, then took the Test at 9-30am on Thursday morning!
Passed first time, so my Dad bought me a '67 Vauxhall Viva HB, in gleaming black, with an AUTOBOX!!!
The Viva cost him £65, and I drove it for over a year, before selling it back to the previous owner for £90......then bought it back again 5 years later, for £50, before some b&$*rd wrote it off! Good car!!!

Well I guess I'll be looking for a Black BX 16v then... Well that was back in 2003, in the Rockingham Speedway car park, but it still counts

That TRS looks lovely... Just like my 1/12 model. It's too nice for me, I think it needs someone who will give it the love it needs, and I don't think it would last long being used as a daily smoker by me.

Well it's up to £410 now, and I reckon it still has a bit to go... Has anyone else noticed how many nice original low mileage cars seem to appear in Cornwall and Devon?

Sorry dudes I have been away from t'internet for a week but it didn't stop me from winning tha banger!

The fun part is the logistics of getting a car that's near Land's End back to Glasgow....

Anyone live in the Cornwall/Devon/Somerset areas wanna give me a bed for the night?

Only kidding.. I think you'll all agree this is one risky buy - this'll be my first unseen ebay car - (actually my first ebay car!!) so watch this space for the adventure. I'll keep you posted!

Good on ya Graeme! Looking forward to pics and story of its recovery. That's the real spirit of the club! :D I bought a BX unseen on Ebay and it was a lot better than expected - especially the extras in the boot. Are you going to tow it then? Doesn't one of the Robs live down that way somewhere?

Excellent. You could look at flights. If you got a cheepie to Stanstead (can you do that from Glasgow? :? ) you can get another cheepie to New Quay....

Just a thought.
