diesel fuel pipes

today my tgd would not start so i have just installed new glow plugs,but in doing so i have snapped off the connections stub on a small black device which has the leak off pipes going into it and the feed from the filter passes throuh it.this is the bosch system all my other bxs have all been lucas.my question is can i bypass this unit or do all these pipes interconnect.

Got a piccy billo? Not 100% what you mean. The outlet union from the pump is calibrated to help maintain internal pump pressure so that part is NOT interchangeable with the Lucas!

problem is now solved,i bought some new fuel hose then cut off the old rigid plastic pipes so that i could remove the broken part.after cleaning it with some brake cleaner i was able to superglue the stub back on.
new glowpugs hve now solved the starting problems .
