Recently bought a 1992 Citroen BX 1.9 diesel. Drove home about 25 miles ...fine! Next day ... took car for a spin, drove for another 4 miles when STOP and radiator warning lights illuminating. Since started at home, after 5 minutes water starting to gush out of overspill hole at top of radiator.
Any ideas what to do next? Any response would be appreciated.

I don't like to put the mockers on your latest purchase, but I reckon your headgasket has failed.
It could be a blocked radiator but these cases usually turn out to be the headgasket.
When it's cooled down start the engine and check in the radiator for bubbles of air/gas coming up. If you see these I'm affraid it's bad news.
Any chance of having a word with the person you bought it from, if you've only covered 25miles it's a safe bet they knew about the problem.

They think it's all over, it is now!
Seen me coming...
Thanks for that. Checked radiator on cold start and lo and behold bubbles started soon as engine started. Shall get in touch with garage and get and estimate or shall sell.
Once again thanks....you live and learn!
