Nice / unusal Mk1

Post by RichardW »

Saw a white Mk1 Estate parked on Ayr seafront on Sunday. Looked very tidy - even down to the original wheel trims  Was wearing a C plate, but it was a left hooker. Suspension appeared in very good nick as it wasn't sunk at all. Couldn't think of an excuse to be behind, so no idea what engine. Can't remember the last time I saw a Mk1 in the flesh.
I NEED a BX TD.

That is probably the only Mk.1 Estate in the Uk unless anyone knows of another lurking in a barn or something?
I would wager that it was an 19RD - whenever one turns up on French or German Ebay they're invariably the n/a 1.9Ds in base trim - heaven knows why?

My personal opinion is that Citroen should have kept the mk1 indicators. I like the old style window on the C pillar too, makes the car look more 80s futuristic 8)

This was continued on the Mk2 on the 16TRS,19TRS, 19TZD and possibly the 16/19TGD it was a feature of the 'T' spec BXs not a Mk1 or Mk2 thing.

AND I'm still looking for a pair of these windows to swap on my car as they're goosed

I used to see a white Mk1 estate in Edinburgh over 10 years ago near Murrayfield stadium. And I'm sure I once overtook a Mk1/Mk2 hybrid estate BX on the M6. I recall it had either the Mk1 Dash but Mk2 front wings or vice versa.. Come to think of it I think I might have even seen a 1.2 hybrid saloon too yonks ago but it might be a false memory..

The rear quater window was standard on TR/TZ models up until 1992, but not on the TZD turbo hatch. Like you i think it looks good.
