A colleague of mine is looking for a cheapie for his son to learn to drive in. He mentioned this, slightly damaged 16, and wondered what I thought.
I suspect it's possibly not even worth the £50 that I mentioned on the phone, although if it goes through another MOT without too much trouble, maybe it's worth it?
Either that, or he's on the lookout for a BX 14 or 19D in the sub-£150 market. If it's red, so much the better as he's already got a rather dead red 19D available for spares.
BX 16. Worth about 50p?

Have to say I think that's about at it's money right now. The damage will put some off and if your friend is prepared to wait I'm sure something cheaper (and diesel-ier!) will turn up.
Plus side is you could drive it home if you taxed it I suppose and that way you'd have an idea of what it runs like. Seems too good to break but might struggle to get decent money?

The 16 (manual) I had wasn't actually that bad on fuel, although the general thoughts and road tests say that they weren't too hot.
The auto was howling however!
For £50 it's possibly worth it, but as Billy said by hanging on something betetr yet may come around.
(If your mate is breaking for spares....whats the OSR door like?)
