Rear Arm Bushes

Purchased 2 rear arm suspension bushes, end of last month from GSF.

One was shiny, the other had a dark coating, I guess for anti corosion.

Anyway, thought I would try them on the spacer tube.

The shiny one fits fine, but the coated one will not fit, the inner diameter is too small. Going to pick up an exchange tomorow.

So if you are buying these, have a spacer tube with you to test for fitment.

The inner diamater is in fact tapered.

Are you saying that they wont fit at all ?

As I understand it the thrust bush is tapered to be a press fit onto the shaft. It is about 12mm wide and all but the last 2mm fits onto the shaft then force has to be used.

As a matter of curiosity, why are you replacing the thrust bushes ?

My experience and other reports suggest they should be reusable so reducing the cost of replacement to only seals and bearings costing a total of £17 per arm.

Hi David,

I purchased all the parts to do one side, but the bushes were from different manufactures.

All I am saying, if any one else buys the parts seperately and not the kits, the powder coated ones will not fit on the spacer tube, I think the centre hole is not tapered.

Got a replacement today, so will be changing the offending side on the next warm day..

Don't forget the 10% discount at GSF...
