Sebring backbox for BX

Post by toddao »

Used, but looks as though it will sell for a few €€€s. Seller says it cost almost €400 new? Does anyone know what BXs this is suitable for and what it actually does? ( apart from look wick-ed >>^ )

Exhausted

I had one similar on the valver back in 99, sounded very nice, cost £120 I think.

The backbox on mine looks like that, but it doesn't say Sebring on it...

It's actually surprisingly quiet, until you really mash the throttle.

I had one of those, 1st on my GTI then briefly on my 16V.

It gave me a headache when idling, lots of low frequency noise.

Possibly the baffles were broken, I got it on a donor car.

The new OEM silencer was so much quieter, and sounds right too.
