Hi

Post by Mickey taker »

Hi everyone,
my name is Susan and I live in Hertfordshire ,I'm a 24 year old student nurse.
I am kind of new to all this citroen BX stuff so if I ask silly questions please dont bite my head off as, after all , I am just a girl.
my trusty ,rusty corsa gave up the ghost a month or so ago and public transport isnt great where I live.

I have recently got a BX 19 RD its a G reg

it has been in a barn at my dads work for 8 years, a couple of weeks ago my dad connected a good used battery to it and after a few turns she started and he drove it out the barn, not bad huh,

He said it had a small hydraulic leak somewhere underneath, and she wants a little work, but it was free so I cant complain.

the leak has been sorted and dad took it for a mot which it passed second time just needing brake pads and discs.

I waited until yesterday to tax it and will be using it for work for the first time today

I will try to sort out some pictures of it later if I can work out how to put them on here.

speak soon

Sue

Welcome - BX 19 diesels can be very trusty transport and you've obviously got some good mechanical back-up from your dad. That's a big plus.

I wish I could persuade my daughter to drive a BX rather than her Fiesta - I'd be able to spend less of her money and mine in fixing and maintaining it. Perhaps after the next MOT, as I suspect I know how it'll turn out.

Should you ever need it, a post in the "Technical" section should get a helpful response on maintaining or repairing the car, or generally ensuring it has a long life.

Happy BX-ing.

Don't look at the names - just post the appropriate reply if I happen to be on, which I have been rather more this week after getting an internet connection again... silly me, should've seen the general drift. Dohh...

And the motive for the post - apart from general wind-up?

Happy to take bit of harmless fun but it doesn't reflect well on us should there be any prospective female posters out there.

Mr moderator?

Well unless I'm being dumb, I saw that as a witty user name! And really, couldn't see anything wrong with the post. But hey.

Susan. Please set the record straight

Or my reply. Linegeist's just posted above about identity and verification stuff - perhaps an overhaul's due on this front if the forum's open to fishing expeditions for whatever reason. .

You just have to wonder how many more like this are stored away? The other looks like an estate, so somewhere there's likely to be a MK1 estate :?

Problem is most of them like this just end up in the crusher. :(
They think it's all over, it is now!
