Is there a problem with the forum chaps?

Post by Linegeist II »

Arriving back after a couple of years away on business in a place with no internet, I logged into my long dormant account, had a jolly good wallow in the info and camaraderie, made a (hopefully useful) post ....... and then, like a good boy, upodated my account details with my new location.

Bad move. The system needed to revalidate my details and get back to me. Despite 2 emails to the admin address on here, my old account remains dormant.

On the other hand, I have created a new account (this one) which also informed that the account would be validated and an email would be sent to me granting access.

That never arrived either - but here I am!

Is there a Gremlin in the works - or is it just my cheap aftershave you guys don't like?

Bob

PS: bloody bad news about Alan. The bloke gave me good advice more than once. :( :(

There isn't any remote odour-sensing yet , so far as I know - and nobody I know of with a grudge against North Wales or possible techno-druids.

Absolutely - sorely missed everywhere, and for many reasons. Could have done with his help on my blast freezer the other day too, when I found out it was blowing but not cooling. Does anyone have a hotline to the appropriate afterlife?

Moderators - more attention required. A straightforward technical question here as relief from other matters?
Back on two wheels and pedal power for the moment.

Hi Bob,

Welcome back. It was very sad news indeed about Alan, He is great missed. I used to enjoy chatting to him too.

Sorry for the trouble you are having.

If you PM me the details I will try and sort it out for you.

Sorry, my fault  Due to workload, I've taken my eye off the ball abit and have neglected activations. It's normal that the account locks if you make significant changes to your profile for security reasons as it could be someone tampering. So, any major changes need revalidation by an admin.

What was tour old username? As soon as I know, I'll re-activate you..

Sorry, blame my workload... It's mad at the moment

Sorry Bob, it's been a long and very difficult day...

Your old account is active. Try it again and if no good, I'll reset your password and inform you of it by email.

Please excuse me. My brain is mush at the moment. Hppens toward the end of every week now...
