Citroen BX TZD Estate £700 or £600.....unfortunately....

Post by talbotsteve »

Sad day really but I can't afford to keep both the BX and the Xantia so as I can't sell the Xantia it looks like I've got to sell my BX. Its a 94 K in red with 109+ miles on the clock, I bought her cheap off here a couple of months ago and have done little apart from swap the front spheres, add some tax and buff her up. She is MOT'd until november and taxed until the end of october, she still needs a speedo cable fitting though.

Good points are she has no rot and no smoke on start up, there is a booklet full of reciepts for a clutch, cambelt and headgasket all around 80,000 miles, the car has so obviously been well looked after over the years it does show when driven. I had fitted 16v zx wheels but have put the tzd wheels tyres and trims back on (all 4 trims now). She is a little faded on the bonnet and front wings and the fibreglass rubbing strips along the roof are a little marked. The rubbing strips around the bumpers have been removed, not by me though, I have spares available. The rear hatch has a crack in the fibreglass just above the rear drivers side light aswell. The car has no parking dents I can see anywhere.

Now I'd like £600 for her or nearest offer but for an extra £100 you can have my other red tzd estate for spares, the bonnet has had an impreza vent fitted, the wings are very good with no fading, the doors are good apart from a slight crease on the drivers door, it has had an AP clutch fitted with 0 miles since and a brand new windscreen. I had a headgasket done on her about 3 years ago along with the cambelt.

The spares car won't move though as i removed the two front spheres, so will need trailering away or scraping where she sits with you taking all the goodies.

I really DO NOT want to sell but one of the Citroens has to go and I'm struggling to sell the xantia, so must put my BX up too.

Car is located in Cumbria, I won't deliver as I just don't have the time.
Cheers Steve

Pics are of it from the previous owners ad.

Due to doing a lot of miles now as my son's crickets season has started i need something bigger with fewer quirks  I will take offers around £550 with all the spares, this car still has a lot of mot and tax!!!! And for the full £550 I'll leave the zx 16v alloys on :D The paint is a little pinkish but the panels on the spare car are lovely and red

Still got this if anyone is interested, £500 for everything, tons of spares spheres lamps panels engines exhausts boxes ect. Speedo still doesn't work but I drive everywhere with my sat nav so not really bothered. Now has towbar fitted and tzd saloon front bumper with spot light recess and splitter. It has developed a bit of a knock on the front sometimes when accelerating and braking, the car goes really well and handles excellently. For £500 it will also come with the zx 16V wheels.

Pics to follow,

Cheers Steve

Excellent, that's my good friend Jake who's the new custodian.

The many checks made is due to the epic checklist i sent him!

Must say, it looks a good one and hopefully i'll get to see it in the next few weeks when I get back to Glasgow!

A happy BX owner back in his flat in Scotland after floating home over the Cumbria Hills. Apart from a small squeal from the hydraulic pump (guess the belt needs tightening), all seems excellent Steve, thanks very much.

And Graeme, you are the bees knees for that checklist. I think you should post it on here as a sticky for buying a BX.

Thanks a lot guys, and it's nice to be in the owners club :) I'll post some pics.
