Yea you are being pedantic here! Its a BX Petrol and it dont like the cold neither does the other BX
Its a one off problem that has been encountered before back in the UK hence why I know about icing in the carbie. I would like to avoid a similer problem in the next couple of months especially with heading up the mountain.
Simple really the function of that Hot air duct is to direct a warm air flow off the exhaust and in to the carb providing better more efficant fuel burning and less time for the auto choke to be on.
The trip I went on the Auto Choke was still engaged which probably flooded the Carb and was not far enough to generate any engine heat. As your aware the exhaust gets warmer quicker.
Like I said this car hates Cold starts more than the other BX so having that Hot air duct missing is not exactly helping.
I just would like to know of an alternative setup to help with this particular problem.
