He says it has the earlier Jetronic system fitted rather than the more advanced Motronic unit like mine on a J. Maybe as it is a few months older? :?

the registration relates to the date of first registration NOT the date of manufacture. My car sat about a good 8 months before being registered on a J-plate, and there is at least one N-reg BX i know of so thats at least 2 years from last manufacture to registration!

Seller says "technical specification as best I can find", but looking at the photos it seems to have a coil pack which suggests Motronic.

£1800 Buy it Now though? I suppose it's possible to the right buyer.....

It is the later unit.

(sorry about the quality of the image) Two easily recognisable identifying aspects of the earlier Jetronic are indicated...

Yes it doesn't show the air flow sensor does it so his description is wrong and this car is a 92 model year with the motronic. :D

Lovely example, even has its original trims, think £1800 is a bit high!
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

I'd say the seller has just grabbed the specs off the web, or possibly out of a brochure... I wouldn't read too much into it.

The car looks honest, but is £1800 too much? Not if someone is willing to pay it. I just hope whoever is bidding the car up that high has been to see it...

I know some people won't like me asking this but ... shouldn't the GTI have a 3 spoke wheel, not single spoke? Or is it a case of when the car was made.

Ahha, AFAIK, when it was made, Tourist. The three spoke was exclusive to the 16v until 1992. (But maybe the TZD Turbo had it too? - and I know the Hurricane had it).
