Lhm pipe material...

Hellow guys from greece again. I just bought a new (lol) BX with saxo VTS engine on it xantia 2.0 T brakes and GTI brakes... It is really cool, but on a swift it broke it right engine base and injured my Lhm pipes...
Do you know what kind of pipes should I use to replace those pipes? I know I cant use regular gazoline pipes, but I dont know what tipe should I use... Any ideas?
Also my fuel pipes broke (on my way home... :evil: ) and I have to replace them (the part in the engine "room") do you know the diameter of the suply and the return?


I hope I didn't opened an allready existed post... If I did so please the mods, merge my post to it, and send me the link to the post.

Hi Alexandros, sorry to hear your difficulty but can you tell us what LHM pipes you are referring to, the metal (HP) or rubber pipes?

If you are referring to the "nest" of rubber pipes above the subframe on the drivers right then this is the "Octopus" and is available as a replacement part. I suspect you are referring to this as if you had damaged the metal pipes it is unlikely that you could have driven home.

The "Octopus" costs about 28 Pounds Sterling from independent suppliers (such as GSF) in the UK.

sweet sounding bx - pm me if you ever want to sell it.

if its the metal pipes that are injusred your best bet would be to speak to pleiades - you'll need to google them - and get them to make you a pipe in kunifer, which is a corrosion resistant alloy of Copper (CU) Nickel (Ni) and Iron (Fe)

Yes I am referring to the octopus, BUT! (there is always a but... :? )
My problem is that the original octopus is not fitting exactly to my car because of the modification... So with a friend of mine (Gez maybe you know him... GTI 1.9 160hp) we are thinking of changing all the octopus with costume lhm pipes...
I'll make a small presentation of the car next week in the proper post.

Hi there, great BX. I think it's quite possible to modify this with replacement lengths of pipe. The material used for these rubber return pipes is Desmopan rubber but that's probably not too useful. Any long return pipes can be taken from a breaker and connected with CuNi rigid pipes and junctions made up. Doing away with the dreaded octopus is probably a good thing.

I recently replaced a split return pipe from the rear suspension with a rigid pipe routed up to the LHM tank and then connected to the rubber pipe there - it works well (but that's just 1 pipe)
