Thanks for the "heads-up" Paul.....very helpful!

As you have already noticed, the "BX Spotting" Section is for any adverts, or Cars seen around the country.
The "BX For Sale & Wanted" Section is for cars and/or spare parts which are being sold by members.

It always pays to have a quick look down the forum listings, before posting.......some people here are VERY quick to spot and post details of anything BX-related, so the chances are that there is already a thread!

(Have you found a suitable BX for yourself yet, or are you keeping that Clio a bit longer while you wait for the "right" one to come along?

Regards

Your best bet for finding a GOOD BX is probably on here!!!
Most cars owned by members have had the major jobs already done, and 99% of members will be honest about the REAL condition of their car, especially if selling it to another member

Also, you will find that members here will only ask for a fair price for their car....unlike most of the magazine ads, and car sales forecourts, who will try to get as much as they can for a car that really needs a lot more spending on it!

I am sure that you will find a decent BX 1.4 petrol, or a TZD 1.7 turbo-disel......in a safe, driveable condition, usually with some MOT /Tax.....for between £250-£500. There are some members cars which are worth a LOT more than that, and are of "show quality", but you are probably best to start off your BX-owning career with something that is basically sound, but may have a few supermarket dings and scuffs!

Whenever you are really ready to buy one, everyone on these Forums will be happy to help you out with ideas, tips, and suggestions!
We are a friendly bunch really.....and you get genuine advice!!!

Paul,
Did you spot Tim's (AKA Roverman) photo of his Beige BX GT in that article ?

Back O/T,
If your only going to have 1 year's worth of insurance N/C's bonus/discount in October (As stated in your previous post's) this 1.4 may be just the ticket to start your BX ownership so as to keep the insurance cost's down !
Also as it's got tax on it to the end of the month and some MOT should be reasonably easy to get some to drive it from Newbury to Lincoln on Third party insurance cover and get it checked in for an MOT straightaway.
If you can get for less than say £50 and it was a bit of a long list to repair or too costly you could always get your money back by driving it into a local metal merchants and onto the weigh-bridge, current prices locally for scrap car's is approx. £70 per tonne (or keep it for a cheap source of spares for a future BX if you have the room to keep it somewhere) as it would be nice if the car or parts can be saved !
Or if you have the time (2-day's to go to when listing ends) best to drive over to give it a once over with someone who knows what there looking at (Also you could take you 'Classic Car Weekly BX Guide' to help you maybe/maybe not ?) prior to bidding on it :!:
Maybe worth asking the seller if the car has been in for an MOT or pre-MOT by him or previous owner and if so what issues were revealed as you can take vehicles in a month before effectively getting a 13 month MOT if it passed ?
