Wanted: BX Steering Wheel

Post by blink »

I am looking for a 4 spoke Bx Steering Wheel in black. Preferibly in good condition as I am not a fan of the single spoke steering wheel. Must be willing to ship to Malta :)

Picture below.

Unfortunately mine is in use, without it I would be stuck

Have you checked the scrap/breakers yards in your area etc.

I like the 3 spoke more too it's more comfortable.

He is right they are very rare in Malta, Especially GTI's apparently only 5 were imported in 8v form and only 1 16v.

Its one of the reasons why I bought the BX to be different :)

If you have a look at my sig you have a link and you can see what I did to my Ford Fiesta  I am sure not many approve but I like the way it turned out. And all the mods Ive done to the car (apart from removing the side indicators and fitting them in the mirrors) can easily be removed and returned back to standard. (Inluding the bolt on lambo doors).

I dont plan on doing anyting Major to the Bw which cannot be removed in the future, like a steering wheel just needs a bolt to take off. I think the 1 spoke steering wheel in the Bx is too big and uncomftable to use compared to normal 3 or 4 spoke steering wheels.

Bad news Blink, the 4 spoke BX wheel is the same size as the 1 spoke!

It just has extra spokes, otherwise it is the same.

I find the standard wheel too big also, so I investigated what Citroen
privided in their accessoires catalogue.

I bought a Momo wheel which is a bit smaller, and there is now more room for my knees and the steering is more direct.

I will measure it later and post up the size- when it stops raining.

Its the amount of spokes its got and nothing to do with the SIZE if you read the initial posting correctly ! But here it is again for Ref:-

But as I'm already in the process of trying to sort 'Blink' out with the best price for shipping I'm would welcome any suggestions as to any other shipping/postage method I 'm currently being quoted, as that is 'Bad News' :!:
The weight of the steering wheel is just very slightly under 2 kg. (Royal Mail postage 'Small Package' cost is £11:29 but if it was boxed even in a light card board box it take's it over 2 kg. and then the cost goes up to £35:99) and a Courier cost is £47:15
So it's looking like some bubble wrap and a poly-bag so as to keep it to a max. of 2 kg. in weight !
