'74 GSX on carandclassic

Post by maxgreenwood »

Anyone know anything about this car?
It was on Carandclassic a while back i can't remember whether it went for #2795, #1795 or #1295 something like that.

It looks stunning, and the only GSX in the UK apparently

I was offered this car a few weeks back, as I had made 'public' my desire to 'recreate' my experience of a 74 GSX I had in France back in 2001.

Unfortunately this one was just too good (odd to say, I agree) as I wanted a daily driver. The depreciation it would have suffered in that role would've made it too expensive for me.

This really is a superb example that should IMHO be in the hands of a deep-pocketed collector. Not (unfortunately) me...

He's looking for at least £4000. No wonder he's keeping a bit quiet about it. How many would-be GS owners could afford that? I sympathise, but his potential customer base is miniscule. Best of luck to the chap. He clearly would prefer to keep her!

Unless it goes into a collection under cover and is brought out for shows and the like, using it as a daily car would quickly see that value plummet to say, £1,500 in a matter of weeks I'm sure.

I would love it. But can't!

£4000 for a GS! Hmm I think he will be keeping it then.

Personally I think it would fare better with say, a £2,000 start price on an eBay auction TBH. He'd get a lot of interest from the continent, like I did with my Visa.

I drove this car at the G rally last month. It was lovely!! Shame he had to sell because I got the impression he hadn't had the car all that long.

Mark.
