An honest car and honest sounding seller, wouldnt need much, but £500 for a n/a diesel with over 200k is far too much.
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

I'd bear in mind that the £500 is a "buy it now" price, it's currently up for £100 and appears to have no reserve....

If it's been serviced up to the mark that engine could still have another 100k in it - or at least enough to keep a 15k-per-year driver going for another (Welsh) couple of years.

19 diesels are very likely to have something approaching this kind of mileage nowadays as they tend to be used rather than cossetted.
Back on two wheels and pedal power for the moment.

Hi Guys

I am the buyer of the above mentioned car.

The seller was indeed a very honest guy. No history with it but I've no doubt the work was done.

It's been used for regular trips to Normandy to collect caravans and bring them back to the UK.

I've bought it as an interim car for a retired friend to use whilst I find him a 406 hdi or similar.

Taxed and mot's to November. I'm going to have a scout round the site now to sort a few minor issues (so be gentle with me!)

I'll spend a few quid on the old girl (Scab on bodywork will be done) and the rev counter will be sorted.

Oh yes! By the way. The knocking in the front brakes that "they all do" was in fact down to the fact someone hadn't put the locking plate back in on the drivers side. How the pads never shot out is beyond me. I put new pads in and had to put wheel back on waiting for the kit. Only drove three mile round trip to tell the previous owner what I found and onre of the pads was half hanging out. He was shocked to say the least!
