BX GTi type3. RHD

Post by autofan »

I has last week seen a BX GTi from the 3th generation with the steer right. Gris Dolmen, I think you called it Dolmen Grey? But I has looked under the bunnet and seen a engine that not is in my car. What's the enginecode from the engine that a GTi from the 3th generation has in Great Brittian? Here in the Netherlands was it DKZ.

I don't has a picture from it. I'm sorry.

What do you mean by 3rd generation? Are you confusing the different appearance of the intake manifold on the end of production cars?
Latest ones also had a cat which came in much later for us than you I believe.

I'll try to translate it good. But my English is very bad. I'm sorry!

3rd generation the GTi wiht Pullman-interior and smoke-backlights and 122hp(?). That's what I mean with 3rd generation. It's the 3rd generation BX but the 2nd GTi  You know what I mean now?

If you trust "Revue Technique", which of course refers to the French models, the engine is probably the D6D (without catalytic convertor).

D6A - (pre-July 1990) - with Bosch L3-1 Jetronic injection system
D6D - (from July 1990 ) - with Bosch Motronic MP3.1 injection system
DKZ - (from July 1992) - with Bosch Motronic M1.3 injection system
Back on two wheels and pedal power for the moment.

Yes I think it's de D6D. The ignition-coil is placed by the distributor. And by the D6A in front of the battery offcourse?

There is no distributor on the Bosch motronic 3.1 system as it operates by wasted spark technique.

I has looked en it's a D6D. In the Netherlands we have only de D6A and DKZ for BX GTi 8v.

Were can I find more information about the models of the BX GTi in England?
