Hmmm. 'Slightly worn'??? Now that would suprise me. Took them off the car and replaced with alloys I can believe but 'slightly worn' I think not!

Yup it looks like they have gone rusty where the trims have rubbed! hardly likely on brand new wheels.

Anything taken off a car some years ago and stored (if the general information and the trims are any guide) isn't likely to be pristine after that length of time. Sheds or garages aren't in general hermetically-sealed cocoons.

Any very light surface corrosion will cost a lot less, and be much easier and quicker to put to rights than it would for a set of alloys, but the only real "blemish" I can see on that pic is the valve, which would be replaced as a matter of course if fitting new tyres.

Any set of BX steel wheels with minimal usage are pretty unusual to find now, and it's not as if they're being oversold - or overcharged-for (99p?).

They're certainly in better shape than the steel wheels on most BXs that have them.
Back on two wheels and pedal power for the moment.
