BX GTi free to good home URGENT

Post by Ed_Reeves »

I've got to get rid of my 89 BX GTi by Friday due to unsympathetic landlord. Would have to be taken on the back of a truck - windscreen smashed by yobs. Been under a tarp since then.

I can get a few quid for scrap but would rather see it go to an enthusiast for nothing.

Silver, auto, F-reg, black leather interior, 52,277 miles from new. In amazing condition bar a few slight scrapes on plastic bumpers. Engine is phenomenal.

To get MoT would need new windscreen, new tyres, new exhaust.

Photos on request as can't figure out how to upload here. Oh hang on, I've just seen how. Will add photos this avo!

Would have to pick up by Friday!

Email ed at etkreeves@yahoo.co.uk or call 07963 166064.[img]

IF ANYONE CAN TELL ME HOW TO POST PICTURES I WILL - BUT ALL I CAN DO IS GET THIS ON: [/img] AND THAT'S NOT HELPFUL!

Hopefully this works:

I hope so! Has a sunroof too, no leaks, but I'm told this is an issue due to headroom. Though I'm six-three and never had any problems

This would be a great opportunity for me to get back into Bx ownership :D

Just one problem - I'm snowed under at work at present and can't get down to collect the car myself.

And I'm skint at the moment till the end of the month, so would only have beer tokens available if anybody would be able to offer assistance / guidance :?:

Chris,

If you did take the car and wanted to part with the leather interior, drop me a line. I know somebody who would take it off your hands.

If you picked the car up, you'd be passing Leicester if you used the M1.

Ta,

Not sure if I'll be able to make it.. gonna try and convince my mate from leicester (if you go on the 16valve forum, it's Simran) to get it.. He might be able to. He might be interested in the car.. I'm hoping he'll want some parts I don't want.. that way I can convince
If he's up for it, he's got a leather interior in his 16valve so won't be needing that

I've met Simran and his Dad several times, they've been to my old house on a couple of occasions.

They live in the north of the city, I'm in a village to the south now.

Keep me posted.

I will do, I'll give him a call in a bit.
I lived with Simran at uni and he got me into BX's. I bought my 4x4 off him. I didn't expect to get so into them!

Simran wasn't interested and I can't make it down there.. shame.. with my bumpers, steering wheel and wheel I'm sure I could have made a nice car out of that.

Be a shame to see that one scrapped. Alas I have no room, nor any way of getting it out of there. Hang in there though, and maybe a thread on the retro rides forum might bring some luck?

Chris,

you're not seriously considering breaking the 4x4 for parts are you. That would be a real shame

no interest in it.. I can't afford to have it sitting here. Have no car at the moment, just a sportsbike that I didn't want to take into winter really coz it's already looking a bit tatty. I need a car but can't afford one unless the BX goes. It's a shame I know.. I bought it in a dreamy "this is the car for me!" state.. and I loved every moment it was on the road (Jan to March I think). It has to go
