Twin Elec Towbar for hatch Model

Any use to anyone, all wiring seems to be there, asides slight cosmetic corrosion it seems sound.

I know of someone whose car failed the MOT for having one of these fitted

they said it was a new rule

My ZX passed with one on and so did the BX auto.

Not sure which garage is failing these, but it's somewhere in Newark.

Similar to the 'sill rule', if there is any rust within a specified distance of the tow bar the car will fail!

Hi Ken,
This is true, the new tow-bar check came into force on 27th April 2009 and is part of a normal MOTcheck now

I hope this may be of help to other members

So get checking, get the wire brushes out or angle grinders if yours is really rusting and slap on some good ole Hammerite before your next MOT
