Ideal Starter BX

Post by Tim Leech »

As mentioned in previous posts I am now ready to sell on my 14RE that I bought before Christmas as it now has 12 months MOT and has been serviced and is ready to clatter down the road once more.

Good Points:

12 months MOT
New LHM (flushed and refilled twice)
New Plugs, oil, filters, wiper blades and coolant.
Runs very well and starts first time (manual choke)
Body is good asides a few knocks and bumps
Suspension is in excellent order and it rides fine and stays up for days.
Cheap road tax, economical and cheap to insure.
Everythink works! (eleccy windows and central locking)
No cambelt to worry about!
JVC CD Radio
Inner wings, door shuts and A posts are solid
4 good tyres
Heater and blower motor works fine
Non sunroof model
GTI baby walker spoiler

Bad Points:

Its not a diesel
No power steering (doesnt need it)
Its 22 years old
Drivers Seat Worn
Boot Floor has been Patched
Rear arm bearings could do with changing if your going to use it alot
Rear Exhaust Hanger is coming away but rear box is secure
No tax (can be at your cost)

£300.00 ovno.

Piccies to follow.

Please note the alloys it once wore are no longer with the car as they were all very bent, it now has 4 correct steels with good tyres and wheeltrims.

Cheap motoring for £300 and a full ticket, have to ask though how come exhaust mount has come away and it has full MOT?

Bloody bargain all the same.

Its not fell off but is coming away as the weld has broken but hasnt taken the boot floor with it, Ive made good with a bungee cord so its not going anywhere so that is ok for the MOT as long as its secure.

Fixed mine with a bracket bolted through the floor. With attendant protection against leaks and rust and a good slap of paint and stuff. No welds to worry about.

I wouldn't start the engine then,
hot exhaust + plastic bungee bodge = snap or fire!

Its round the exhaust hanger bar itself not the actual rear box so should be fine.
