thinkink about another BX purchase

Post by kevlights »

is the GTI just a trim model ?,does not appear to be 16v although its fuel injected petol 1991 77,000 miles UK import for $2000 NZ?
was going to go the Xantia way but have been told they are heavy in comparison ?Sick of the Peugeot 505 STI petrol that is my current Ride mainly cos it wont start! just cranks and cranks so it can be sold ;
and back to the Bx for me !
sold the BX to buy ZX disaster! sold to get Fiat Croma nice car but gutless,sold to get Peugeot 505;sold that 505 to purchase another BX ,at least I know about them! 1989 BX 19GTi AutoPetrol
just a little bit insane and slightly Euro potty

THe GTI is basically a fuel injected 1905cc engine. Closest comparison would be the 19TZI but lacking in some trim level. For example the GTI has the carry handle spoiler rather that the whale fin.

It is not a 16v

btw I know the Car and its going to be mine :)

That sounds like a typical New Zealander remark. :wink:

Great idea to find out a cars value is to find out its agreed value from the insurance company. The AANZ has a good online tool to get an insurance qoute.

I look at it this way I would not pay more than what an insurance company would pay out.

I was watching that auction of the 16V and someone asked a question that raised a few red flags over the vehicle. The fact it had not had a Warrent for over 3 years and had been used by the daughter for uni in that time raised some questions to me.

Second major biggy was when the seller said the door hinge had rust would cost $400 to fix. Now if that was all the problems why did it not have a WOF? Raised a big question in my mind re rust amongst other things given how easty it is to get a WOF in NZ.

rusty doors BX 16

Post by kevlights »

yes that Dunedin Bx ,turned out to have rust in both door frames,good on the owner for advising bidders;and restarting the Auction;
The one I bought is also from Dunedin ,seems to be a lot of them down there for sale, mine has had patch repairs;to all the rust. But very poor prime paint, if any, the drivers door is rusty on the bottom, but over all ,the car is in good nick for a 1989 BX 19;
