Expect these to go beyond £50 each (probably well beyond) but they aren't exactly common.

Not a bad price considering that reconditioned ones are (I think) over £100 each. If only I had the money...

Does anyone know the seller? His email is g16vbx@yahoo.co.uk
and he's in Basingstoke. I wonder if it's anything to do with our old mate Roy Hassel who not only ran a 16v but also lived in that area too?

Anyone going to have a crack on these then?
Todd

They have more than £150 reserve.

I think people keep an eye on what's being asked for on this forum before listing on ebay. Maybe that's a bit obvious/cynical?

I've met him (the seller) at Stratford last year, and he seemed a decent chap. He's not a member on here as far as I know though.

toddao, nothing to do with Mr Hassle, i've known the guy on and off for about 6 years. He posts on BX16Valve (he's had three valvers for around 6 years) and occasionally on BXP, don't know if he posts here.

£410.

I could buy several BXs for that!

Surely it would be cheaper to overhaul existing struts.

I am glad I have kept my <10k mile spare new struts, but I think they will from now on be stored in the bedroom rather than the garage.

I know the seller, he is a good chap.

just over a year ago I bought two new front struts from a Citroen dealership for £160 the pair. These are now fitted to the GTi. I feel I got off lightly!

£410??

Fu_ing h_ll !

As BX's become rarer genuine parts that are no longer available will always comand a premium. at the end of the day if you have a mint BX spending 400 squid to help keep it that way is a drop in the ocean especialy on a car that is only going up in value.

I recently fitted a cat on a 5 year old E class Merc with a trade price from Mercedes of £1500. How much would it have cost to have that piece of exhaust fitted at a Merc Garage

Well... In 10 years time you’ll be wishing you could buy 2 brand new struts for £400. The thing is, that ain't expensive. In relation to the price of a BX maybe, but how many ‘good BXs’ have perfect struts? My 16v didn't cost much more than that to buy, but I wouldn't hesitate spending that much to keep it on the road.

I didn't buy them, but fair play to whoever did...
