Hi
Several questions:

When was it last MOT'ed ?
When was it last on the road ?
Does it run ?
Have you tried for an MOT and if so what did it fail on ?

Thanks

This was one of the cars I was offered after my wanted posting.

The only reason I've not viewed it is because of it's location.

The owner (Jeremy) sent me this info:
It really is a trailer job to take away.

It has been on a SORN for a number of years and belonged to my parents, previously.

It is complete but has a leaky radiator. Rust is very small but in normal places for a BX on the front screen pillars.

I don't expect much for it but would like it to go to a good home rather than a scrappage scheme.

It will need a fair amount off work to get it to good condition.
If anybody wants contact details, I can forward his email address or telephone number.

I'm in Edinburgh this week and next and would be able to go and take a look and post some photos if anyone thought that was of benefit as well as maybe learn a bit more.

Trailering is a given.

It was just a thought.

I have been in touch with the sellers and they have someone looking at it this weekend. If they don't take it they will get in touch with me and I'll go take a look.

What I do know is it was taken off the road in March 2005 and has been started now and then since then but not run for any appreciable time. It was not an MOT failure, they simply didn't tax it again.

If someone wants this I would be prepared to take a trailer up and collect it (seriously), if my fuel costs were covered. That would probably make it completely uneconomic given that it's a ~700 mile round trip @25mpg, but it'd be a good excuse for a weekend away!

I live in Exeter and my partner is at uni in Edinburgh so basically I'd do the same, haul a trailer behind the Xantia as I have done before.

We could form a collection service !
