Wanted: Waxstat/ColdTimingAdvance unit for 1.9D engine

Post by sdelasal »

The waxstat/cold timing advance unit is stuck on my 1.9D. Engine was misfiring badly, when cold. I reset the cold idle cable adjustment to the 'cold position' and the engine starts much better now with less mis-firing - still some missing and so the next step will be to get the injectors checked and compression tested.

Anyway, does anyone have a good used waxstat device, the one that bolts to the thermostat housing with a cable coming out of it over to the Bosch pump? If so, PM me and we can sort out a price.

I got one from M Lockwood in Bradford, but I would have thought GSF or Eurocarparts would have them. :?
