Hi Adrian,

Welcome to the club.

I can't offer you any assistance as I live in the Midlands, but reading your post gave me deja vu:

I've just bought a grey E reg Phase 1 from a club member in Newport, so the same part of the country as you.

Do you have any photos of your car, what colour and mileage?

Phase 1 16V's are my favourite Bx :D

Thanks,

Mike P.

Adrian, theres a rather prolific valver enthusiast in Stroud who may be able to help you, although hes been rather quiet on here as of late.
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

Welcome Adrian, glad to hear that you intend to get your car back on the road, hopefully in time for one or two of the ccc meets this year.

When you say you want help, do you just want advice from the club or people to do the work?

If its the latter tbh you may struggle, as a few have been taken for a ride over the years, so are less than enthusiastic to put in hours for minimal/free payback. However the generosity on here can't be questioned with quite a few members helping out others when in dire straits etc...

What's probably best, is if you come across an issue that you can't work out, use the search function to see if its already cropped up, most things have. If you can't find any info, post up a techy question & you'll certainly get plenty of advice on the site & perhaps depending upon locaton etc...some practical help also. I've currently posted up a help request myself today

One last thing, WE NEED PICTURES ASAP

I know it's a late reply, but Bristol 2CVs on Cotham/Redland border work on BXs as well - only place I know of in my old stomping ground - my dad took our phase 1 16V there to have the front struts replaced when they seized!

and they're cheap on the labour front, and thoroughly decent chaps.

0117 9743947. If you tell them you know Chris with all the BX's they might do you a cash deal..
There's also the Weston's in Cambridge, but I've lost their number right now..
Although Dom is a member here username "Weston89".. also prolific and very good with all things Citroën.
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...
