Northern Meet 2006?

Post by Barnsley BXer »

Hi folks, just a little thought for next year. How about meeting up at the CCC northern section rally at Wetherby,May 21st(Sunday).There will be bugger all to do as usual(unless you like car boot sales:-there's a rather large one held next door every year) but if you like cars, the Peugeot,SIMCA,FIAT and Sprite caravan clubs are being invited along.I suppose I'm being a bit naughty doing this without official sanction(I'm a committee member) but if there's enough interest,it could be made official.Comments anybody?

I wasn't aware that one needed official sanction to invite people to CCC meetings, Citroen or non-Citroen, club or non-club... We invited the Renault Classic owners Club to our last G-Section rally. I'm not sure what the CCC legal liability situation is towards non-club attendees, but...

I would have thought "the more the merrier" - and IMHO I see no need to treat the BXClub as an outside club to invite, if it means swelling the BX presence :)

I've never been to a Wetherby meet, but I'm sad to hear there's 'bugger all to do'. It's a bit far for me to come... It would be tempting if lots of interesting Pugs, Fiats and Simcas turned up!

Or maybe it would be better if we meet at the Midland Section Rally at Stratford race course. I've been to several of these now, and they've been most enjoyable: plenty of autojumble, loads of interesting cars, cracking venue, BBQs, the H- pizza van. It's in a nicely central location, not far from the M1... Thoughts?

Mark.

I've done Wetherby for several years now, hope some of you can make it as it's getting increasingly lonely for BXs. I'll certainly be going in one, even if I have to borrow it.
The site is very easy to find from the A1 and Sunday is the main visitor day.

Lets show the DS owners which car Citroen built the most of. So please dont all turn up in 2CVs.

or GS's? It's not by much, but GS/GSA total production pips BX production

2,474,346 GS+GSA (figure from http://www.gs-gsa.org)
2,337,013 BX

21st May????

Does this not coincide with the Lemans trip?

By the way everybody, it looks like the BX 4x4 will become my everyday car after new year as i'll be saying bye bye to the Golf and i dont have anything else sorted yet.

That'll equate to about 2,474,345 tons of oxidised iron, then :D
