However, when I lowered the car on the jack, and started the engine to get the jack out from under, the front suspension refused to budge. Rear was fine, lots of hissing 'n stuff, but no front suspension - which stayed resolutely on its bump stops. Tried all the citaerobic tricks, plus setting the height lever to MAX with the footbrake depressed - nothing.
I eventually got the car off the jack by messing about with wooden blocks under the front NS tyre and then driving carefully off them - and then tried driving the car slowly down the village road to see if the joucing would free something up. As soon as the car hit the first bump, the front suspension decided to play ball and did a Lazarus trick, rising to its normal height and going all nice and squishy again.
Can someone possibly please explain to ol' thicko here, what exactly was going on .... or should I confine myself to waving garlic at the car and chanting?
