A song for the BX
A little food for thought for the musical ones of yoy out there. We've had various Pink Caddillacs, a Little Red Corvette,A Silver Thunderbird various Beach Boy car related songs,is there anybody out there with the talent to compose or alter a song for our BX's?

I'd of thought O'RAFFERTY'S MOTOR CAR by Val Doonican would fit the bill perfectly!

Usually heard on Ed "Stewpot" Stuarts kids show on the radio many moons ago
All together now........What a wonderful motor car, it's the greatest ever seen
It used to be black as me father's hat, now it's forty shades of green
On TV and the radio and in every public bar
The burning question of the day is O'Rafferty's motor car

Re: A song for the BX
Here`s my effort shamelessly plundered from `Song For Whoever` by The Beautiful South. An ode to my BX and this website......Barnsley BXer wrote:A little food for thought for the musical ones of yoy out there. We've had various Pink Caddillacs, a Little Red Corvette,A Silver Thunderbird various Beach Boy car related songs,is there anybody out there with the talent to compose or alter a song for our BX's?
I love you from the bottom of my empty purse.
I love you for the oil you`ve leaked out on my drive,
I love you for the club stickers that are a bleeding curse
I thank God for the BX club that keeps you alive.
Cheap, NEVER cheap,
I write these words coz I can`t sleep
I`ve been up all night trying to fix the leak
And mop it all up.
Oh windows, oh sunroof, oh spheres oh bloody oil leak,
I`ve fixed you so many time already this week
I forget what`s next (I forget what`s next)
LHM, radio, trim needs some glue, suspension leg seat adjust too,
LHM, radio trim needs some glue, suspension leg seat adjust too
I forget what`s next
I love you from the bottom of my bank account,
I love the way you break down when all fluids run dry
I`m sad on your reliabilty I can never count
But I love the way the BX club always know why
Deep, so deep, the scars I`ve got from this old heap
Most are from the LHM weep, so cry BX cry, cry, cry, CRY...
Oh Ken, Oh Vanny, Oh Marty and the rest too,
You`ve saved me so much money I owe the world to you,
I owe the world to you, I owe the world to you.
Vauxhall apologist.

Pete Waterman is regualrly spotted up the East Lancs railway where he owns a big chunk of it and likes to drive the trains....Perhaps we could do a demmo?Barnsley BXer wrote:Cavmad, you are a genius!Your poignant lyrics brought a tear to my eye.Have you thought about getting in touch with Pete Waterman
