Ok well as you guys know, I bought this recently when I found myself carless, I'm now sorted with that respect so the bx is surplus to requirements, and as I've nowhere to keep it, it needs to go, I've used part of the original advert in this one, so don't be surprised if it seems familiar.

The previous owner spent over £800 to get it up to scratch, including: new cambelt & tensioner, new "octopus", front disks & pads, ball joint, track rod end and driveshaft gaiter.

It's also had new drop links & a pair of spheres. Also there is a new towbar fitted as well as the exhaust in 2007.

I have all the old MOTs to substantiate the mileage, which is now around 61k.

So - Good bits

All of the above.

On the road, MOT until October 20th, taxed until the end of October

Starts, runs and rises fine. No known problems.

Tyres are fine, Michelin on the front, Goodyear on the back.

Interior is still fine, no holes or major wear, just a bit of UV fading.

The bad bits

Paint is very flat. I think it's lived outdoors all its life. Black sections along tops of doors etc have rubbed off.

Electric sunroof tilts ok, but only slides back about half way & then jams, so there's definately rust in the runners. On the bright side, it doesn't leak.

It needs a repair to the driver's door hinge area for the next MOT, as the hinge has cracked away from the panel.

Cracked windscreen (from a stone, not rust) on the passenger side. Fortunately not an MOT issue as it's outside the swept area.

Bad connection on rev counter, so sometimes it works but mostly it doesn't

There is a diesel leak when running, but I'm told that it is likely to be the shaft seal on the injector pump, but I haven't the time to investigate further, its still pretty economical even with the leak!

Any questions please give me a shout.

Price is a firm £300 reflecting the faults, but also the generous mot/tax and low miles.

If someone wants it before the end of the month, I'll throw in a goodmans mp3/cd headunit.

Hi - did you manage to find out the cause of the diesel leak?

Cheers

It appears to originate near the injector pump, however I have taken the belt covers off and it is dry in there, I haven't had time to look any further as I'm currently engaged in a weldathon with the smurf and a little bit of patching to be done on the new daily.

Hi and welcome everybody I am a new owner of that TZD
I am just about to start sorting out leaking diesel from a fuel pump through cam pulley, any suggestions welcome, should I just remove the pump and try to replace seals or should I just send it to some diesel pump specialist, please let me know what you think of how har is the job, thanks!

That depends entirely on your ability to do the job.

Whilst I and some others here would remove the pump and change the shaft seal, some other members of the forum would not be in a position to do so, and so would get someone else to do the job.

Also... it's not a TZD....

Hi again..
Sorry it's a DTR :)
Anyway fixed now.
I've changed cambelt, head gasket along with other gaskets in the engine, injector pump reconditioned and BX is up and running like a dream :)
Next week I should get the welding and bodywork done.
I will post some pictures when it's finished.
P.S.
I have never done any major work on any car I just had the tools and space available and Haynes manual for Citroen diesel engines :)

With Regards
Patryk
