Well yes I agree - I've called Nick and I'm going along on Saturday to pick up the wheels for me and the carb for Tim - I'll probably grab the heater blower if that's still available because they come up as a regular need.

I guess I could could pick up anything that's still available and in reasonable condition - let me know folks if theres anything you'd like me to look at for you or anything I should be hanging onto for a rainy day.

Re the wheels - I don't need the tyres so if there are any decent tyres there I'll post.

Perhaps it is time we had a BXclubUK national Parts Bank that people can deposit there unwanted items in and if necccesary have thier postage refunded by members contributions?

Electrokid, if there's any rear lights that aren't cracked or damaged in either the green, blue or red tints, i'd be grateful if you could nab those for me please, i've got stacks of the dark tinted ones, so no more please

If the starter motor is suitable for my tzd turbo i'd also be interested in that.

If the tyres are at least matching axle sets (depending upon size) & they are decent one's not ditchfinders with at least 4mm of tread, then i may also be interested (i don't want much do i

).

Good idea Kevan, we've also in the past had our own stand & sold bits for charity fund raising purposes, so we could try that again if it proves popular?

I was in a Citroen dealership this afternoon and the guy mentioned something about a load of stuff being discontinued in a month's time - I wasn't really paying much attention because I was looking for a part number at the time but I'm sure it applied to the BX - so now seems like a good time...

My experience of not-for-profit ventures is that if you aim to break even then you end up making a small loss - but if you aim to make a small profit then you usually end up breaking even.

Seconded. It's a great idea. Providing silliness doesn't occur, I think it would be for the benefit of everyone. We're all going to need parts for our cars, and keeping a huge bank of spares individually is much less effective than an organised repository. I'm sure someone has all the bits I need just sitting somewhere...

I can store some of the smaller bits if needed in one of my various lock ups Brian so if you want to grab whetever you can etc and I can always get it from you.

And there's a few bits of my own that can go into the communal pile as well.

I am a bit short on storage space here - the garage is full - Ive been lucky so far that one of the new front seats for my BX hasn't fallen on top of me when I open the garage door

I also have some spares for a er... vehicle-from-another-manufacturer which are a bit on the large side and take up a lot of room. In the back garden I also have 2 more sorn'ed er... vehicles-from-another-manufacturer but since they are 16' long and 6' wide I'm using those for storage too

I guess it's worth asking if anyone is travelling from darn sawf to up north or vice versa who is willing to pick up and deliver spare parts...

I managed to get a brand new Weber carb for my TXS. So the old Solex will be available for the Club spares cache. It's a bit of a mess but the car was running ok with it on. A can of carb cleaner would work wonders I'm sure.
