BX 1.4 for sale/spares

Post by sprucegoose1 »

Hi, I'm new to BX forum, thought this may be a good place to find a new home for a mates BX. BXs are becoming a specialist market now, had a few myself over the years but have no use for one now, unfortunately.
If it doesn't go then I'll be breaking it for spares via eBay!!!!
It's a 1.4 TGE, situated near Leicester. In good mech cond although been off the road for a couple of years as he has favoured his XM for general use. Unfortnately a house move forces sale of the BX. All paperwork, V5 etc is present. He has no tolerance for internet use hence why I'm sat here while the sun is shining outside!!
PM me if interested and I'll provide further details of car. Cheers

As I didn't have info to hand earlier couldn't include, but cheers anyhow, shows there are interested people out there.
It is a '90 1.4 TGE with 119k miles. Dark red - maroon - but faded. Grey interior. No photos I'm afraid.
Open to offers. If anyone is genuinely interested I'm sure you'll be in touch.

£350 for a 1.4 with no MOT and TAX?

Me thinks he will be keeping for a while!

Sounds like £100 to me.

He reckons it will make that breaking it!!!!! But in my experience, its really just a few bits and bobs that sell then your left with a non running heap that has to get collected by knacker man.I thought he was going to say "give us a ton and take it away" as i agree at the moment its probably only worth its weight in scrap.Oh well i keep on trying to save them from the crusher but there.s nowt so queer as folk!If it was a 16v i agree it would be probably worth what he wants but a 14 TGE?????? and with that sort of mileage :(

I know what you mean. Some people are too stubborn to deal with, and in the end the car disintegrates while they flatly refuse sensible offers - they seem to have no concept that as the car rusts away on the drive the offers will go down, not up.....

To give some perspective to any potential sellers, my own BX 14TE St Tropez was purchased with 7 months MOT and 4 months road tax, in a very clean and useable condition with a fairly good service history and only 69k on the clock for a very fair 350 pounds. It has cost me nothing but fuel etc since i purchased it 4 months ago. I think anything listed as spres/repairs has to be somewhat less surely?

Don't know where £350 came from!!
Initially owner of car was looking around £300. I actually agree with you all, that is optimistic and its value is low, it'd get about £30 at the auction if it would sell. Hence why mentioning here where there are people who don't want to see the BX go the same way as many a DS and CX before. Maybe it would be happier sat in a French garden with chickens living in it.
Anyhow, I've spoken with owner and he says he'll take £150 or it can rot wherever it stands. Shame to see that happen.
I'm just the messenger here, wish I'd never got involved.
