Re: Wooscary's TZD 1993
I gave it a nice clean out last time it was off.
The new seal on the 'stat is not holding on to much coolant, I'm going to whip it off again tomorrow and
see if I can sort something out, but if not it's going to have to go to the garage as we're off to France for
a couple of weeks on Monday.
Other than that, it all feels pretty solid so hopefully a trouble free drive.

Think I've managed to get the proper seal to seat nicely now, fingers crossed.
Just out of interest, is there just that one bleed point on top of the radiator on the right hand side?

I'm sure there is one on the stat housing too.

Re: Wooscary's TZD 1993
Seems fairly well bled now. Cheers. Still a bit of coolant seeping out. Damned if I can see why. Cursed thing.

After the dead battery I thought it was best to fit multiple units straight to the dash.

Stocked up on some high quality French water for the car.
Right, so off to France, Belgium and Luxembourg tomorrow morning, with Holly and my brother and his girlfriend. Four people + camping gear, where is the wine and beer going to go?
Fingers crossed for a smooth journey...

Re: Wooscary's TZD 1993
Returned late last night. A rather modest 2530 miles covered. Milage now stands at 303589.
No mechanical issues to report particularly, it's stopped leaking as much water from the 'stat housing,
didn't leak that much oil and the new battery wasn't drained by anything.
The front struts are now incredibly creaky though, so something needs doing about that.
Oh, and we had a good time too.
Pictures to follow.

Here are some photographs from the trip.

At the beach.

A good bridge is always welcome.
IMG_2577a
These seemed pretty common.

How bread should be.

Holly removes a wasp from the wiper with a tent peg. It flew away quite happily in through the rear window at my brother's face.
IMG_2638a
On the way to another beach. A hard life indeed.
IMG_2692a
Sound advice.
IMG_2735a
This looked like it hadn't moved for years, which probably means it's a daily drive.
IMG_2760s
The new Batmobile.
IMG_2776a
More booze should come in blister packs.
IMG_2815a
Cursing the sun for being there.
IMG_2819a
Not sure what was being experimented.
IMG_2820a
Yellow.
IMG_2843a
Check out those beige walls!
IMG_2948a
Scenic.
IMG_2970a
Kelly Kettle going full force. If you're unfamiliar, check them out.
IMG_2995a
Common as muck too!
IMG_3100a
Worst shot of a BX ever? Just visible under the wiper.
IMG_3290a
All underground carparks should be perfumed. This one also had classical music piped in to it and recharge points for electric cars. Antwerp (my new favourite city).
IMG_3299a
The only one I managed to properly photograph! Antwerp.
In total 13 BXs sighted. Mostly battered NA diesel stuff, a really really nice goldy/beige MK1, a really nice 1.4e(?) looked very base anyway.

Some really nice photo's there, enough to make me jealous anyway looks like you enjoyed yourselves! I went to brussels last February, and the coach we went in went home through Antwerp, looked rather nice. Brussels was fab, lots of yummy chocolat, really cool (and a huge variety, each with it's own special glass) and lots of little quirky gay bars It was bloody cold though, we had snow.
Good to see an old car being worked What were you demolishing btw?

Re: Wooscary's TZD 1993
Cheers, I was pretty happy with some of these pictures, I've been perfecting the art of shooting while driving.
Yeah, Belgium is great generally. I was just gutted because all that beer which is so expensive here is incredibly cheap in their shops,
but we had no space in the car and a tight ferry schedule (which we missed anyway!), so no beer. A return drive to Antwerp shortly is on the cards, it's only a day away even from up here.
This is the first time I've been to Belgium in the summer, it certainly does get cold.
We were carefully taking to bits a plywood packing case that was being used as a tool store, and a compost bin, with a sledgehammer...
Now the tomato house is being transformed in to a tool store, obviously.
