BX Digits

Post by Philip Chidlow »

I've never seen a running Digit. Are any actually on the road now on the UK? If so it'd be great to see one at the National next year!

There may be some footage of a digit on youtube, there was one at the conservatoire, which oddly enought was badged as a BX19-Digit, not a 19GT-Digit, and had normal BX seats, no rear spoiler, foglamps or extra stripes etc.

The only one in the club I think is David Rutherfords car.

The 19/19GT digit was a special edition available in limited number which had a lcd dash board, on board computer and snazzy 80s radio casette plus a few shiny silver bits and remote central locking. Outisde it was the same asides the GT badge.

Very rare now.

The display was actually vacuum fluorescent display (VFD) based, but that's only me being pedantic

The radio cassette was manufactured by Pioneer, and was one of the earliest PLL digital tuner head units around, and it had an LCD display.

Haha! it's Ok Ray - I was going to say that too!

Tim, surely the Digit looked like the 19GT except for the bumpers not having the black over riders?

Just looked like a 16TRS with a flashy dashboard to me, no spoiler, fog lamps, or GT stripes or decals.

The BX digit is so '80s Futuristic' it is brilliantly retro now.

Never seen one in the metal though. Must be the rarest of all BXs.

It is my "dream BX", although a 4x4GTi is also right up there.

Definitely. A 4x4GTi Digit would be perfect, however :)
