Hi to all BX ownwers,
I have just joined the BX club and hope to attend some of the functions in the future.
My request is does anyone know where i can obtain a fuel sender unit for my BX 19tgd 1991.
I can obtain a genuine from Citroen but i feel it's quite expensive.
I am looking for some cheaper options

Can anyone help please ?.

Welcome Geoff, have you lifted your rear seats to check the conections on your old unit before bying a new one?

Part Number Description Quantity Price excl. VAT Price incl. VAT Total incl. VAT Selection
92552015 RHEOSTAT 83.43 GBP 98.03 GBP 98.03 GBP

i agree its not cheap,

try supplying that part No. to some motor factors as they might be able to cross refrence it to one of there suppliers, at a lesser price

I had a problem about a year ago with the fuel guage moving all over the place particularly after i had just filled up.
looked at the connectors, cleaned and oiled them and it now works just fine. Just a dry connection, simply fixed.
May be worth a look.

Thanks for reply.
I have taken the unit from the tank and stripped it down to find that the metal windings were damaged beyond repair.
therefore unfortunately i need a replacement.
look's like i'll have to pay citroen price.

Hi Geoff, and welcome to the BXC,

I saw/spotted a spare fuel sender unit in my garage over the weekend (Whilst looking for another part for another member) if I can remember where it is, I can help you out with that one fairly quickly, if not I can remove one from the tank of my spares 17 TGD.

PM sent !

:D

yep, C15 is indeed the same, but if you're going secondhand it's always better to get one form a petrol, and petrol C15's are a bit rare!
Although I do service 2 of them quite often..
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...
