WANTED: Towbar for 1988 BX 14 review saloon

Post by slimlavud »

Hi all, I am a Citroen owner and enthisaist from way back - a DS, GS X 3, CX X 5 and an XM in my past.
I have just bought a nice low lileage BX 14 Review from an old friend who used to run a Citroen repair garage in Suffolk. I got rid of a Volvo 940 estate to buy the BX (quite right too of course, what was I thinking - a Volvo?) and I will need to tow a traier to make up for the lack of estate car space.
Does anyone have an old towbar please?
Bearing in mind:
1. I can collect from around London or Essex/Suffolk/Norfolk etc in the next few days.

2. A new one is now only £43 plus postage on ebay, from Towequipe

3. I am reduced (if that is not being rude to the BX) to a little petrol BX as I am skint!

Please let me know very soon if you can help?
Simon

Try Edwards, Billericay Essex (see http://www.bxclub.co.uk/specialists ), they might have one.

Welcome, by the way!

Oh, and you might want to remove your phone numbers as spambots do roam. Use PM or e-mail.

Hi Richard

yes, it was that one, the seller is an old friend of mine and I know it would be a good one. I really would have liked a cheap or free (!) diesel as I am on a very tight budget at present but you seem to snap all those up...!
You don't have a towbar going spare then?

Yes, thanks, I am just too trusting I suppose. I cannot edit my original post now it seems?

Well, I do get over to Normandy occasionally, my brother has a house there - in Fontenay-sur-Mer, near Montbourg.
Thank you for the offer, I shall try and arrange a trip...

There might just be a possibility I could get it dropped off near Manningtree in Essex in a week or so's time... Would that be any good to you?

Hi Kevin

That would excellent, I have to go up to Diss to collect the car and could pick it up on the way home. Thank you.
