Odd sound from gearbox or driveshaft bearing

Hi all. I remember this sound from my last BX 1.9 diesel, but its nowhere near as bad. Its probably best described as a rumbly white noise sound that does not happen in neutral. If I had to describe the sound with letters it would be.. cccuuuccccuuuucccuuussssuuucccccssuuuu. I suspect the input shaft bearing into the gearbox or the halfway point bearing on the long driveshaft. I suspect the latter as it seems to be speed related rather than rev related but I can only really hear it above the engine in 5th.

Has anyone had this sound or is it a common problem? I am rather fussy and sensitive to these sort of background sounds in cars so its probably nothing to worry about.
