Where can I buy decent strut return pipes....

Buy or sell parts etc. Please put 'Wanted' in the title if it is a request for parts.

Where can I buy decent strut return pipes....

Post by Kevin B »

As the title says, I need some strut return pipes.

Having prevoiusly fitted GSF items which have not lasted a year, I would idealy want something that lasts longer than this.

I would be grateful for any suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

You could do it the way the Mk1's originally where, cut the pipes off at the big rubber block, stick a barbed union in and then replace the hose. I've gone for some black silicone hose to see how well it copes.

neber yet had a problem getting them from the stealer.
More costly than GSF, BUT, they last 4 times longer, so simples really.
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Thanks chaps for the advice, I think it main stealer time then, as I was in need of a few parts from this source anyway.

For that price its well worth it, just for saving the agro of changing them less frequently.

Next time I must remember the old adage buy cheap buy twice!

Ordered the strut return pipe from the local Citroen dealers today, and got them for approx 1.5 times the GSF price, so if they last more than 18 months I will be saving over the GSF equivilant.
Only downside is you now have to buy them in a packet of 5, still that lot should last me a while.

Reminds me of the time when I was a little kid in the toilets of the working men's club putting my pocket money into the condom machine thinking it held packs of cards. An old bloke asked me what I was doing and I piped up, "They're for me Dad's birthday" :D

edit 2: glasses, again
