Go for it Tim.

You might get some good rear arms off it. Sell Cavmad the engine, scrap the body and you've got yourself a nice set of seats.

Hehe its about £195 more than I have at the moment! Am VERY happy with my tzd as Kens made a great job of it, just need to replace the rear spheres and that radius arm thingamy and were cooking! I can beleive I have a bx with a perfect speedo, no wobbles giggles and no bumps and bangs just a bit of a annoying rattle form the dash! Well i have tomorrow off so will give it a go. And its filthy after pounding donw the M1 at 100miles a hour!

£195 doesn't seem to high a price ?. More of a description would help!

Ahh.... looks too good to break :( good amount of T&T remaining, lowish mileage, great colour, bodywork/interior looks good - this would be a perfect runaround for someone currently lacking a BX!!

It seems 1.6 petrols are unpopular with the majority of members!

I agree Mark, would be too good to break. It`s a crying shame that I`m breaking mine and I have to confess to feeling guilty but can`t get an engine for a resonable price and time, money and space are against me at the moment. However it least it`s going to save another four BX`s so far so not all bad. Started it up this morning, smoked the neighbours out and it`s going into my garage in about 1/2 hour in readiness for some rather brutal treatment, a lot of swearing and almost certainly the removal of the last few bits of skin and knuckles on my hands :D

:(

You're in exactly the same position as I am with the other Meteor. "Too good" to break, but needs a new engine.

I'm thinking of holding onto it as the bodywork and interior are so good (except bonnet and rear spoiler) and it's has a fair amount of new bits on it. But it'll have to move somewhere else soon, and at the moment I'm not quite sure where...

... until such time as some peeps may be able to help me do a straight engine swap or a TDiesel conversion :)

P'raps someone who's done a diesel conversion in a BX could write up a guide for the website i.e. all the bits you need, everything that needs replacing etc.

Cav, what's the bonnet like on your's - I think it's the same colour as mine isn't it?

Mark.

Falls into higher tax bracket & insurance group whilst not being as economical as a diesel. Thats probably why - there is little incentive to spend the extra wedge (well I am a quater Yorkshire).

Mark, mine`s the dark metallic grey colour (almost black) and bonnet is excellent as is rear hatch. The only thing that lets the hatch down is some sort of stone chips on the spoiler but a few touches of a paint stick would sort that out without too much effort. Both available and delivery may be possible though would likely not be until start of Feb. I`m probably going to get everything possible in the estate and do one mad round trip dropping parts off. Can you please remind me where abouts you are again?
