I wouldn't let that stand in the way of something you want Luke. Buy it, fly to Bournemouth/Southampton/London, pick it up and it's MoT'd so you can drive it home. Easy peasy :)

those two statements so contradict each other!

If you really want one, you will go to the ends of the earth for a good one.

Me, I've bought cars in Germany, from one end of the UK to another ...

distance is no excuse if the car is a 'keeper'.

im told there are only 20 odd of these xantias left on the road, and not many were made in the first place, ??
the car does sound, from what the owner says, a very nice, well looked after car,and knows the history of the car since new,
im in the Bornemouth area 3 times aweek,so if anyone wants any help, think this car needs to join the "family" !

I'm not surprised that there's so few left, from what i've heard everytime something goes wrong you're tallking £££ which are unfortunately more frequent than they should be. That'll be the only reason i'll probably never own one, but if you can fix xantias yourself, then they are probably a nice car to own.
2002 C5 2.0 HDI Estate - Remapped - It goes better
2011 Mini Cooper D Clubman - it does over 60mpg
1992 TZD Turbo - SORN - slowly getting there
1991 Gti 16V - Blaze is back on the road since 2008
1990 Gti 8Valve SOLD - looks like it's been scrapped
2002 Mini Cooper S - SOLD - i miss this car
1992 TXD - Scrapped in March 2014

I'm not just a username, i'm also called Matthew.

True, You have a good point. If I have any cash left over after buying a Vel Satis / Avantime I'll be on the hunt for a nice Citroen again :)
