E-bay item number - 4601380762

Problem is that he wants at least £50 for it, (as thats the minimum you can have a reserve for) and it's not worth that. I've yet to pay any money for a BX, and one of them even came with MOT!

It`ll be more than £50 as although no bids it`s showing £50 reserve not me. This car has been mentioned on here fairly recently butv I`m sure there were more pictures of it last time round.
I`d have thought it was still worth £70 perhaps to someone who wanted the engine and box out of it?

Are you sure about that.... I think it's showing £5 (reserve not met)

True, the engine and box will probably be worth more than £50, but only once removed from the car. The fact that the engine and box come with an attached BX devalues them somewhat, as you have to spend 2 hours getting the engine out, and then do something with what remains.

But said BX does have MOT and allegedly runs fine. So it's a self-transporting engine and box, and you can try the engine out before you swap it ;)

Here's a question then...

Since it is clearly damaged and wouldn't pass another MOT (all doors, including tailgate must open for the MOT, and the rear structure is clearly damaged) is it legal to drive on the road? I would have said not, as it's now unroadworthy.

I also wonder if any insurer would cover it, as it's clearly "structurally modified"

Hmmmmmmm.

I had a CX22TRS that was hit up the bum as i sat at traffic lights by an uninsured driver that could not speak english, helpful.

Anywho, it was bent bad, the rear chassis longerons were cracked, the bootlid had to have a crowbar and lump hammer taken to it to open it up. BVut all doors worked and after more beating with hammer the boot would open and close too. Looked nasty though. I drove it for another month like this, coppers didnt bat an eyelid.

That car would probably respond to a little "Body English" to the boot floor with the number 3 Hammer, and a little clearancing in the rear doorframe, as long as the rear wheels are pointing in the right direction :D
