Some bits i'm after
Hi Guys,
I had a good 'ole poke around the BX this morning and have come up with this list of stuff i need.
Screw - that secures the plate the coil and the plastic air feed pipe thing are attachged to, it's on the front of the plate and looks about 8/10mm wide, not sure how long. Screws into a metal extension on the RHS of the rocker cover.
Plastic part that connects the carb to the air filter housing, oil breather also attaches here. It is only held by the bolt on the front, and is loose.
Ducting from the exhaust manifold shield to the air intake pipe.
I think thats it for now!

My first BX didn't have a glovebox lid.
My second BX didn't have a glovebox lid.
Four and a half years ago I bought the BX I have now - that didn't have a glovebox lid either.
After a couple of years I decided to do something about it and got one from a scrapper... It was so long sculling around in the garage that the hinges got broken on that one as well.
Last year I decided to really go for it and got another one - that too spent too long in the garage and one of the hinges got broken.
Finally, this year, I got fed up with all this messing about and carefully carved the lid and the box with a Dremel and a very thin B&D cutting disk to accept brass hinges - screwed into the thin plastic that's available then 'blobbed' with aluminium loaded epoxy.

What colour's the trim - I've got a good brown glovebox lurking.

No, that's perfectly normal - in fact it's more likely to have two BXs and three broken lids...saintjamesy89 wrote:Wow electrokid, thats an accomplishment, 3 BX's and two broken lids...

I think what I was getting at is - if you get a decent glove box lid you still have weak hinges - it's just possible with a great deal of care to fit brass 'hidden' hinges to it.
Ok - and I was showing off that I've now got one

I've heard this many times before but all 8 of my current/previous BX'x have all had intact glovebox lids with no problems , in fact I've never seen one without.

That must be some kind of record Kevan
You need 'high temp' - most of these products should have the temperature spec quoted - aluminium should be fine and also most silicone - but not neoprene.
