Welcome Rodney, we want pictures

Tips for keeping your car going, erm the list might be long, have a look at the technical sections & the search function to see if you can find stuff that you need to know, otherwise just ask on the forum, we're usually helpful.

Hi Rodney, and welcome to BXClub.

Do an engine oil change every 8000 miles and it should last getting on close to 300K :-)

Hi Welcome to the best club in the world.
Definitely oil and filter changes and coolant and indeed 300k is very much
within the realms of reality
I have owned 2 TZD's 1 Hatch and 1 Estate (The Green Hornet ).
The Hatch had 110k when i got it and when the bodywork let go the engine was still going and i still have the engine and gearbox.
That had done 287k when eventually sent to the scrappy.
The Green Hornet was bought from Tim (Roverman) with 225k and now has 254k and still going like a train ( apart from recent accident )
If you need any help with anything to do with keeping a BX going you are in the right place.
There is probably more collective knowledge on here than even Citroen themselves know about the BX.

Welcome once again and regards Kermit.
ALAN S an oracle of knowledge sadly missed by us all RIP Mate
Green Hornet well I don't really know.GS project gone to pastures new

Most Citroen dealers don't know the BX ever existed so that's a very true statement. Anything older than a Picasso and you get blank looks

Yes Matthew - looks like 6k. I was sure I saw 8K somewhere but Haynes says 6K and so does the first few pages of the service history. 6K better than 8K anyway. But then Hayne says 48K for the cambelt and I thought that was 45K - not much difference though.

I do mine every 3K miles, and the belt every 20K.
But I'm anal like that.
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

And it probably takes you half the time to do as it takes me just to drive to the Citroen garage!
