BX on ebay

Hi guys, new to this club but I dd have a diesel TGD upto 2006 when I got rid of it. What a mistake!! I deeply regret that now as I'd had it for 11 years.

Anyway theres a diesel TZD on ebay with 69000 miles - anyone know about its history - the thing that worries me (I'm not a mechanic) is that the current owner has only had it 6 months altough the previous owner had it many years.

JUst wanted to know if anyone on here knows a bit about it.

If the history and mileage are correct (I see no reason it shouldn't be) it is certainly an excellent car and low mileage diesels don't come round that often + the TZD is deffinately the one to have + great colour. The sticking problem may be the price; a more realistic current price would be £800 with 1k being a normal maximum but prices have sometimes appeared to rise recently. I notice the price has dropped slightly and if he would take a couple hundred less what have you got to lose? If values fail to rise and you only kept it for 12months £200 would be cheap motoring for the year. If you intend to keep this one for 11 years you will be on a winner IMHO. He is being greedy though.

thanks for that info - I looked at the existing thread and somebody was talking about a leak arond the cam pulley on this vehicle - also that the rear radius arm bearings might need doing - an ideas how much these things cost to do at a citroen specialist??. I never had to do them on my previous TGD upto 106,000

Also having no experience of the turbos how long do they normally last - my previous diesel TGD was non turbo

anyone know of a citroen specialist in essex . I know about Edwards at Billericay but I seem to rember they only do parts rather than repairs/servicing - also they were a bit off the beaten track

Steve, at that price i wouldn't expect to have to replace any rear arm bearnings or pretty much anything as that is top end money. No harm in checking the car out & make an appropriate offer based on what you thinkg the car is worth to you taking into account the issues it has.

if it needs the rear arm bearings doing it needs £400 knocking off the price and if it does need them it hasn't been looked after fastidiously as claimed.
The camshaft seal is nothing to worry about and very easy to do if inded it is gone but that dark patch referred to doesnt confirm anything.
The money he is asking it should be faultless.

if the oil has been changed around every 6000 miles, the turbo should be fine. If you get chance to try it out and the turbo power isn't there, but service history is good, it could be the over-fueling rubber feed pipe which has a split (easy fix) or the pressure sensor diaphragm in the over-fueling device on the fuel pump, something i had fixed on mine my a fuel pump specialist , not that expensive.

it looks nice but would need a good check over before purchase.

And serious haggling is in order at that price!
