GREEN BX ESTATE 'J' REG 1.7 NON-TURBO

Post by freawaru »

For sale. 9 months MOT , sorned but will pay for 6 months if sold to drive away. Good exterior and interior, no smoke, but now needs a new clutch. £600 with 6 months tax. Sorry to see it go, but daughter banned and cannot afford to keep two cars.

'Oooop North' between Leeds and York.

Considering it costs rather a lot for a clutch replacement I think you're being a little over optimistic asking for £600. Do you have any photos? You can email them to me if you have trouble posting them - I'll pm you with my email address.

GREEN BX 1.7

Post by freawaru »

Hi Steve,

yes. I could not get a price below £400 for the job so I ws thinking that the BX Club where a member sees that sort of job as part of their skill repertoire - and time, rather than money - would be my best bet.

Will take and send photos today.

All the best,

Mike H

Mike has the clutch "gone" in as such that it does drive?, sometimes it can be just the cable that needs adjusting.

If indeed the clutch needs replacing then scarecrow is right sadly that £600 is a big ask.

Thanks.

Hi Mike

If only the World worked like that, but I suspect anyone on here with the wherewithal to do the clutch would be looking to price the car according to how much it is worth to you now, not how much it might be worth to them after they've fixed it

Cheers

TBH it's a bit like me saying to bxclub members that my low mileage tzd turbo just needs a replacement engine, therfore it'll only be £800

Reality check required, if it can't move under it's own steam then its pretty much worthless & scrap value only imho.

If on the other hand you are serious about selling your car, get some decent pictures posted up & invite some offers on your car, you may get a few quid more than what i've already suggested, either way all the best.
