BX 14 TE part wanted. Issues.

Post by Stinkwheel »

OK, so some of you guys and girls will have spotted recently i had issues with hydraulic pipe from pump to regulator. Ive now had 3 snap on im in about 6 weeks. This called for further investigation.

Its only got the wrong pump fitted, i compared the spare i got from the ever helpful Ken. Yeah, totally differen mounting and orientation. Basically someone has bodged on a pump from another model.

No wonder i couldnt understand why the pipes i had were different shaped to the new citroen one i bought.

So basically, i need the big bracket that the TU engined 14 has bolted to the sump that the proper pump mounts too. Anyone got one? Anyone got a dead 14 sitting about to cannibalise?

I really need to sort this before i loose allconfidence in the car.

I was looking at a scrapper 14 at Medway Citroen the other day - it has had some parts taken already, but they may possibly have something to sort you out, even if it's a used pump. Bloody well haggle though!

Failing that it's gonna be Playdays... or maybe get someone to fabricate the plate of which you speak (I just thought they were different pumps though?)

I could ask the guy I got the pump from if he still has the mounting bracket, he has pretty much everything else that came off the car :?

Always worth scouring the scrappies looking at TU-powered 206\'s, 306\'s and Xsaras for brackets. If they\'re cheap enough, grab the sump too (make sure it\'s an alloy block model....some of the iron ones are different). Alot of them have A/C pumps and belt-driven PAS pumps mounted down low. Won\'t be the same, but will be the closest thing that you\'ll find with little effort and might be close enough to fit.

good point kitch, only problem is none (and io mean none) of the scrappers round here have had much in worth even thinking of looking at for years.
