Are those extra dials next to the centre console? And there's other non-standard 'stuff' going on...

I recognise the one on the dash as being part of a Moss alarm system. Can't tell what the others are though, maybe it could be something useless like a temperature gauge

Expensive yes, but if it's as good as they claim should be worth that much.
It's also nice to see a garage that's prepared to sell old motors instead of just shunting them off to the scrappers. :)

I've just had a chat to the garage man, a pleasant enough guy - aren't they all?
The vendor is a widowed lady and the car seems to have been her husband's pride and joy. There is a detailed account of the servicing and fitting of the extra dials etc. These include a fan over-ride and a water temp gauge. It has been off the road for a while, the last Mot was carried out on 29th April 2009 when it was serviced and had a new battery and front spheres.
He said that he had received an offer around £550 for it which he would present to the seller. That sounds pretty generous :o

Too much for me I am afraid.

Hope this helps.

It does look very good. The dealer's 'about us' makes interesting reading and I get the impression they know what they are selling and have pitched the price accordingly - there are plenty of small engined brand new cars that are not going to do the mileage this one will be capable of - if it was an estate I'd be tempted. Should go for more than £550 IMHO.

I contacted him cos it looked good but the MOT has run out (don't understand why they don't put one on it if its as good as they say) plus although it has extensive service history he can't say when the cambelt was done as its all handwritten - £750 now without MOT plus transport down south and getting the belt done makes it too expensive for me as well -guess I 'll just have to keep looking for a decent one down south/essex
