CX25RI Familiale auto - £700

Truth is, I just don't enjoy driving the big, wafty CX as much around here in Wales as the BX and I've got a hankering for something else.

So, anyone fancy upgrading to a CX? You get supremely comfortable suspension (really is very different to the BX), powered self-centering steering, 8 seats, ZF 3-speed auto gearbox, ELECTRIC height adjustment and a heater that works sometimes.

Cosmetically, it's a bit rough, but it seems solid in all the right places and I've clocked up around 2000 miles. It garners LOTS of attention.

Just retaxed for six months, MoT to April. £700 or open to offers, swaps.

This is now on Ebay. I don't usually go there, but I really want something else!

Real shame about the timing, I'll be after another Citroen in January after I wave goodbye to the Vel Satis, and this CX partnered with a Xantia V6 would've been the perfect duo replacement.

Good luck with the sale, I reckon that price will rise very quickly indeed.

I was taken for a spin in this at the weekend, and can say although it's no concours winner it seemed to pull well, and rode the bumps superbly!

Electric height adjustment? Sounds interesting. My CX Prestige has usual mechanical adjusment - I'd be interested to know how the electric side is done.

I'm willing to be corrected here but I believe that series 1 cars have mechanical height adjustment, while the series 2 cars have motors or solenoids to alter the position of the height adjusters. A friend of mine who swapped his series 1 Pallas for a series 2 Familaile didn't like the way he had to switch the ignition on if he wanted to drop the series 2 to the deck for any reason.

It is mechanical ride height really ray, just instead of the mechanical lever of the Series 1 cars it has a small stepper motor and corresponding switch that does the work of changing heights for you in series 2 cars

And yes someone buy this car from Ian, otherwise i will have to start getting interested in it, and we dont want that do we.

Ah yes, I'm with you now. for some odd reason I had it stuck in my head that this car is a series 1, despite it obviously being a series 2... I'm losing the plot

The stepper motor thing is a classic example of 'leave it alone!' Absolutely no need for electronic control and it's just another bloody thing to go wrong. Occasionally it 'hunts' for the right position so you end up having to quickly switch to another setting and then switch back. What was so bad about a nice simple lever?!

I had a lovely '86 special last year and a Gti the year before!

Mrs Scooters puts up with a lot as DW will confirm from my activities on forums such as autosh1te!
