Grey tweed front seat/cover wanted.
Grey tweed front seat/cover wanted.
There seems to be a bit of a seating theme going on today so I though I'd jump in too! I don't know if the plain pale grey tweed material went through to the mk.2s but the driver's seat from the BX I picked up last Sat is a bit too worn to be useful.
Does anyone have either a passenger or driver seat in the plain grey tweed please? Mat's suggestion in another post today that just the material can be transferred rather than the whole seat is inspired.
If no-one knows what material I'm talking about, I'll post a pic tomorrow.
Cheers

She's a member here actually.
Has a lovely DTR called Martha, a lovely doggy called Xara, several cats, and a hubby called Al. Oh, and she likes ale.. I mean, bar the hubby aspect of that equation, the perfect woman for all BX men folk types!

Unless the fabric is damaged, why don't you just give it a damn good clean with one of those vax type carpet cleaners? I've done the seats in all my cars, & the amount of shite it got out of them was amazing, & that was after dysoning them beforehand. Came up like new

On reading your first post you probably realise this already but you can swap the seat squab from one side to another if you have a better spare.
Those grey seats were never a very durable material and show every mark too as any hausfrau would tell you.
Personally I would put a better GTi/TD style interior in. Not original I know but harder wearing and more comfortable too. But I am not a Mk1 fan so please disregard my comments if they do not coincide with your zen.

The Joy of BX with just one Citroën BX to my name now. Will I sing Bye Bye to my GTI or will it be Till death us do part.
I've got GTI seats in there already ( the yellow break) but they clash quite badly with the original and shabby door cards. Yes, they're comfy but I didn't want to swap in the later door cards which would mean I have to change mirrors etc as well as the look and feel. I'm proud that, apart from the GTI seating it's pretty much original even if not the best condition.
It left the factory as pov spec - wind-up windows, vinyl everywhere, individual door locking, no power steering etc. To swap in this complete Mk.1 TRD interior would give me electric front windows operating from the central console - luxury - and central locking as well as some carpeted details without departing from its originality.
I'm not completely averse to a bit of modernisation - the break was made March 86 and the spares TRD August 86!
